We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management
I. Description:
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, forecast, and actuals with detailed variance analysis monthly, quarterly, and YTD
- Prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and analysis
- Managing the accounting and finance departments
- Prepare and manage monthly financial reporting including and not limited to P&Ls, Balance sheets, and Cash flow statements to the Board
- Measuring company performance against external and internal benchmarks
- Ability to set up revenue models with clear ROI on each project, and be able to create a consistent framework and model moving forward
- Managing full annual budgets and forecasts process, as well as developing 5-year plans aligned to business strategy and growth
- Work with different departments to develop financial and headcount budgets, and ability to influence and challenge budget asks and spends when necessary
- Ensuring compliance to statutory law, finance, and tax regulations
- Overseeing Treasury and Taxation functions
- Maintenance and documentation of accounting procedures & policies
- Solving technical accounting issues
- Maintaining relationships with external auditors and banks
- Oversee Financial Systems and external providers of systems management and system upgrades
- Identifying areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs, and ability to guide and advise Executives to make intelligent financial decisions for the company
- Team Management including leading, mentoring, and developing staff
- Working closely with Executive Leadership team to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities
II. Your Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
- Bachelors or Masters qualifications in Finance, Economics, Accounting
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Previous experience in fintech preferred
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages
- Ability to motivate and lead teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent organization and administration skills
- Energetic and motivated personality with great multi-tasking
